THE PARTICULARS
OF ITS ORGANIZATION, FUNCTIONS
AND DUTIES. |
Cantonment
Board is a body corporate
created under the statute
called The Cantonments Act,
1924. It carries out entire
gamut of municipal administration,
including town planning
and infrastructural development
of Bareilly Cantonment.
Bareilly Cantonment Board
comprises of both Military
and Elected Civil Members.

THE POWERS
AND DUTIES OF ITS OFFICERS
AND EMPLOYEES. |
1. Cantonment
Board is a policy making
body.
2. President Cantonment
Board supervises the executive
and financial administration
of the Board.
3. Cantonment Executive
Officer is secretary to
the Board and the Chief
Executive/Administrator
and carries out day to
day administration including
supervision of the entire
work force of the Board.
Main Functions of the
Employees are in the field
of :
1. Levy and recovery
of municipal taxes and
non-tax revenue.
2. Regulation of building
activities and land management.
3. Town planning and
infrastructural development.
4. Water supply management.
5. Street lighting.
6. Sanitation and hygiene.
7. Primary and higher
education.
8. Health care.
9. Horticulture and environmental
conservation.
10. Registration of births
and deaths. The functions
and duties of these departments
and employees are as prescribed
under the Cantonments
Act and delegated by the
CEO from time to time.

THE PROCEDURE
FOLLOWED IN THE DECISION
MAKING PROCESS, INCLUDING
CHANNELS OF SUPERVISION
AND ACCOUNTABILITY. |
All policy
decisions are taken by Cantonment
Board in the Ordinary meetings
held generally once a month
and in the Special Board
meetings held as and when
required, by unanimous or
majority decision. CEO supervises
the entire work-force and
takes decisions on all facets
of administration. The employees
of the Board, in their assigned
roles are accountable to
the CEO. |

sound infrastructure and

decisions and works are
advertised in the local
newspapers.
